Firdous Ashiq Awan – The Iron Lady

Firdous Ashiq Awan would make a great contender and candidate for the Prime Minister of Pakistan as she has the experience, persona, mettle, resolve, dedication, connections, and skills to steer the ship of this populous and complex country.

She hails from Punjab, the powerhouse of Pakistan. She is a blue-eyed of establishment and has seen the ups and downs during various regimes. Her affiliations is above any political party as she is more geared towards what’s better and right for the Pakistan and that is why she changes the party whenever she sees that the party is not going into the right direction which is good for the country and the nation.

Firdous Ashiq Awan or Firdous apa, as she is lovingly called by everyone is a great iron lady. She is now Special Assistant to CM Punjab on information. Fayazul Hasan Chohan gets removed as provincial information minister. Earlier she held portfolio at the federal level and now she is at the provincial level. She is also called Czarina of Punjab as she has so much clout there at grassroot level.

Fayaz ul Hassan Chauhan removed as Information Minister and given the responsibilities of another portfolio – Firdous Ashiq Awan comes back, this time in Provincial cabinet as Special Asstt to CM Buzdar for Information and PTI local chapter of Punjab is not happy about it as they say that she is too tough and doesn’t listen to them. They also say that she is not a loyal PTI leader and hasn’t got any struggle behind her. There is also some other criticism too from within the rank and file of PTI.

In the recent Faez Isa, J. case detailed judgment, Firdous Ashiq Awan was found to have committed contempt against a sitting SC Judge. SC had ordered independent proceedings to make her answerable for her conduct. Not all of them, including Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan, Firdous Ashiq Awan and Shibli Faraz, have the skills to deliver modern politics and narrative building skills. PTI needs good political minds to build narrative per ‘situations’ and digital technology know-how to viral it.

The truth is whatever they say, Firdous is a great asset for any party and government.
