Interview with Tweep Danielle Khan @daniellealiice

Please introduce yourself in 1 or 2 lines?

My name is Danielle Khan. I’m a 27-year old American originally from Maine but currently based in Washington, D.C. working as Special Assistant to the Dean at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

I’m married to a Kashmiri from IOK and work as a human rights activist for the Kashmiri people, among other global issues.

What do you usually wear in daily life?

I would consider my personal style “chic/whimsical”. However, these days at home I’m wearing a lot of pandemic-inspired athleisure outfits/pajamas!

What is one thing you cannot do without?

My Pomeranian dog, Nahla (and I suppose my husband — sorry, that’s two!)

Your favourite tweeps?

@carin_fisher, @HerNameIs_Bea, @CJWerleman, @StephenKing, @MuftiMenk, @sarahcpr, @lsarsour, @AOC, @SenSanders.

Facebook, Twitter or Instagram?

Instagram — I enjoy viewing and capturing moments/places through photography.

What are your healthy habits?

  1. Going to bed at a reasonable time.
  2. Sticking to a daily routine.
  3. Practicing gratitude, self-love, and being more present.
  4. Setting work boundaries / ensuring quality time with family and friends.
  5. Keeping a clean and organized home.
  6. Being active (walking, biking, etc.)
  7. Eating healthy (as much as I can!)
  8. Being open, honest, and real with myself and others.

Your all time favourite movie?

It’s too difficult to just choose one, so I’d say some of my top favorites are:

  1.  Amélie
  2.  The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
  3.  Grease
  4.  Scarface

What do you do in your spare time?

When I’m not spending time with my husband and dog, I enjoy reading about murder mysteries/unsolved cases, singing, dancing, and binge watching TV shows.

What’s your favourite holiday destination?

Anything tropical or on the Mediterranean (Turkey, Indonesia). Although I most prefer destinations off the beaten path.

What’s the last thing you bought?

“Mina”Shakshuka sauce! Yum.
