PTCL Ufone 5G Trial

Thrilled to be part of witnessing history in the making as PTCL Group successfully conducted 5G trial in a limited environment here at PTCL HQ. Looking forward to revolutionary advancements in technology. We are ready to take the next step. Are you? A big day for telecom industry in Pakistan as PTCL Ufone tests 5G services across the country and everyone would be able to get it.

5G coverage in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, and other parts of country is being rolled out rapidly by PTCL and Ufone. Telenor, Jazz and other providers are also going to adopt it as soon as possible. PTCL Group 5G Trial Ceremony at Islamabad is in full swing. This is good. I think PTCLOfficial shift to FTTH is very positive. They also need to upgrade Ufone network as they are still lacking basic 4G service. The upcoming spectrum auction is a very good chance for Ufone in this regard.

So what is 5G in Pakistan? According to wikipedia, “In telecommunications, 5G is the fifth generation technology standard for broadband cellular networks, which cellular phone companies began deploying worldwide in 2019, and is the planned successor to the 4G networks which provide connectivity to most current cellphones.” In very simple words, it’s more fast Internet what you have today. I don’t think that most of the people have 5G phones in Pakistan but that will change quite rapidly.

Under 5G, PTCL provides high speed internet with unlimited downloads to cater the demand for browsing, online streaming, gaming and learning across Pakistan. High Speed Internet provides unlimited data at a higher level of performance. New Fiber to the Home (GPON) connection installation charges are upfront Rs.15,000/- Above packages are also available in some other few selected revamped exchanges as well as for DSL/VDSL. Price of 5G in Pakistan is quite good.

4G made streaming and sharing part of everyday life. 5G stands for fifth generation and is the next leap forward in mobile network technology. Pakistan has always been on the forefront of technology and 5G is no different. So let’s welcome it.
