News from Thatta and Sujawal

Judicial Magistrate Thatta in compliance with the order of Session Judge Thatta raided Keenjhar Police Station and got two laborers Mohammad Azeem Ghandro and Mohammad Imran Ghandro freed who were illegally detained for five days. The raid was conducted on the complaint of Waqar Ali Ghandro, a relative of the two detainees who told the media that police had detained them on the behest of a few influential people and were trying to implicate them in false cases.

While the SHO was ordered to appear in person before Session Judge Thatta on Monday. Meanwhile, Jhirk Police arrested two Gutka peddlers and impounded a truck carrying sacks of betel nuts and Gutka packets on Saturday. The Gutka peddlers were brought to Jhirk police station while no case had been registered against them till the filing of this report.

However the area SHO said that; They had launched a crackdown against Drug and Gutka peddlers and the case would be lodged against them under the recently enacted Sindh Prohibition of Preparation, Manufacturing, Storage, Sale, and Use of Gutka and Mainpuri Bill, 2019.

Sujawal:A Missing Youth was found dead from a Sima Nallah a few Kilometers away from Bello town of district Sujawal here on Sunday. The deceased identified as Ghulam Ali Shah resident of village Agheno Shah had gone missing since Saturday night from his house. His relatives began searching for him and in the meantime, they were informed about a body floating in a sim Nallah. The body was identified as that of Ghulam Ali Shah who was said to be killed by unknown assailants.

The area SHO while talking to the media reporters said that the body carried marks of torture and the possibility of a murder could not be ruled out. while the body was shifted to Civil Hospital Sujawal for autopsy. Relatives of the deceased held a vociferous protest and demanded justice. However, SHO said that an FIR would be registered in light of the autopsy report.
