Pakistan Cricket Board spokesman Samiul Hassan Burney has confirmed to the media that PSL has been postponed. After a virtual meeting between the PCB and the team owners on Thursday, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced the immediate postponement of the HBL Pakistan Super League 6. The decision came after seven Corona cases surfaced in the league.
The PCB will now immediately take steps to facilitate PCR testing, corona vaccine and isolation of participants from all six teams,” the cricket board said in a statement. The cricket board said that PCB chief executive Wasim Khan and director commercial Babar Hamid would give more details at a press conference at the National Stadium in Karachi at 3 pm. The PCB will broadcast the press conference live on its YouTube channel. Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board had confirmed the corona test report of three more players to be positive.
So far 14 matches have been played in the sixth edition of PSL. 20 matches were yet to be played in the sixth edition of PSL. The decision to postpone the PSL was taken by the organizing committee in a virtual meeting with the owners of all the teams and their management. On Thursday morning, Karachi Kings all-rounder Dan Christine decided to withdraw from the remaining matches of PSL 6 and said that he was going back to Australia. The sixth edition of PSL includes six teams and all the matches of the first phase were being played at the National Stadium in Karachi.
