She started with senior journalist Nusrat Javed as a co-host and I loved her natural and slightly scared style of co-hosting with the veteran journalist on one of the Pakistan’s largest TV channel on prime time. She enchanted the audience with her natural and unfazed anchor-ship and now she is ready to enchant their taste buds with the Taco Kits.
Taco is a Mexican dish consisting of a folded or rolled tortilla filled with various mixtures, such as seasoned mince, chicken, or beans. The name might seem exotic in Pakistan but trust me you will find this dish right at home on your table. Taco is one of the most famous dish of Latin America especially Mexico and there is a reason behind it. It’s a street food which is cheap yet fulfilling and very yummy. Eating tacos is an art, “the art of eating with tortilla.” Any day is a good to enjoy them… and as that famous Mexican saying goes: “A taco is not denied to anyone”.
The reason why I believe that Gulmeenay’s idea of Tacos in Pakistan is a brilliant idea is because it matches with our culture. When I first visited Mexico City I thought I was roaming in Rawalpindi. People look exactly the same as our Pakistani brethren. The smell, the urgency, the lack of respect for rules, and food looks so similar. Yes the language and names are very different but then who cares about it. If you love Arabic Shawarama, then Taco is not much different really.
Anyway, Gulmeenay’s Taco Kits comes with a choice of three types of meat, two salsas and three sauces you can mix and match to your hearts content. She have many options available including a vegan option. You can check and follow her Insta page for more. Meena Gabeena on Twitter has recommended it too and has said, “The tacos by @gulmeenay are sooo good. I love it that she has vegetarian options and they taste superb. What a talented woman we have.“
We wish Gulmeenay best of luck for this venture.
